Beyond the Library is the Internet. The genealogist/writer must decide the purpose of their publication: is it primarily to get the information into the hands of researchers in the future? If so, then Internet access is essential. Fortunately, it is relatively easy, especially if one has already gone through the steps to produce the published work.
Archive.org is the website of Internet Archive, a non-profit out of San Francisco with the most intriguing mission statement: “Provide access to all information.” Gotta love that!
SIG members are encouraged to create an account on archive.org – it is free! – and to upload that research information, both raw and final products, as willing to place into the hands of the public.
